Berlin Wall

 The History of Berlin Wall

Did you know the one of the dumbest thought that I ever have? I was very sad to know that Berlin wall had destroyed in 1989. I do not understand at all about the history at that time. Then, I am decided watching videos on Youtube about cold war and notice how this is happen.

After the end of World War II, Berlin was detachable into two zone. East Berlin was the Soviet Union zone and West Berlin were partitioned into American, British, and French zone. East Berlin which assisted by the Soviet Union was very strict to their civilians. Soviet Union decide the behavior of East Berliners. However, as the condition worsened in East Germany, many people began escaping to the western side and make East Germany lack of human resources and skilled labor. Hence, East Germans were determined to end this cross over by built the wall between the two. This wall called as 'Berlin Wall' which was built in 1961. East Germans were not allowed to crossing the wall without permission or they could be shot and left to die.

In late 1980's many Germans began to criticizing the Berlin wall's presence. Also in 1987, US President Ronald Reagan delivered a speech in front of the wall in order to made a bold appeal to the Soviet Union Premier to 'tear down the wall'. After all, in September 1989, East Berliners began to protesting the presence of the wall. Finally, on November 9th, 1989, many people approached the wall with chisels, hammers, and other tools to destroying the wall.

Berlin Wall was detained for 28 years, but it was finally torn down. After four decades, Germany was officially reunified in October 1990 and Soviet Union fell soon after.
